The aims and objectives of this chemistry qualification are designed to provide students with a strong foundation in the field of chemistry and equip them with the skills and knowledge necessary for future academic and practical endeavours.

Aims: 

 

Learn Unifying Patterns and Themes in Chemistry: Enable students to explore and understand the unifying patterns and themes in chemistry and apply them to new and evolving situations. This promotes a deeper understanding of the interconnectedness of chemical concepts. 

 

Acquire Comprehensive Knowledge and Understanding: Provide students with a broad knowledge and understanding of chemical facts, terminology, concepts, principles, and practical techniques. This forms the basis for a comprehensive understanding of chemistry. 

 

Apply Principles and Concepts in Diverse Contexts: Encourage students to apply the principles and concepts of chemistry, including their applications, across various contexts. This promotes the practical application of chemical knowledge. 

 

Evaluate Chemical Information Critically: Teach students to critically evaluate chemical information, enabling them to make informed judgments based on this information. This nurtures their ability to analyse and assess data and research findings. 

 

Appreciate the Practical Nature of Chemistry: Help students appreciate the practical nature of chemistry by developing their experimental and investigative skills. Emphasis is placed on conducting experiments safely and accurately. 

 

Analyse, Interpret, and Evaluate Data: Train students to analyse, interpret, and evaluate data and experimental methods. They should be able to draw conclusions that align with evidence gathered through experimental activities and suggest potential improvements and further investigations.

​Tutor Information:

​

​Anna has a degree in Biomedical Science and a commitment to making a difference. Alongside volunteering for her favourite charity, Cye-Cyl, she has also achieved Level 1 proficiency in British Sign Language. While she was accepted into medical school, her true calling is in teaching and mentoring, where she can share her knowledge and inspire future generations to excel.

​Classes take place weekdays between 4-8pm during term time and are 2h duration.
